Golders Green is a district that is situated in Borough of Barnet. It got its name from the family named Godyere that lived here during 13th Century and the Green at the end came from the manorial waste present in this area.

Golders Green is present in the north western side of Charing Cross and it is just 5.3 miles away from that area. The London Underground tube station opened here in the 20th Century and this was one of the most significant parts that triggered development in Golders Green.

This station is situated adjacent to Golders Green Hippodrome where the BBC Concert Orchestra was held. There is a large amount of Jewish population in this district.

The first cemetery built here was in Hoop Lane in the year 1895. During 1880s the motor buses and horse drawn omnibuses were very famous. From the year 1910 a tram line was built that connected Golders Green station with Finchley Church End.

There were some major developments seen in Finchley Road with the opening of this station and with the establishment of the Hampstead Garden Suburb. In 1911 a retail district was developed along the Arcade and Temple Fortune Farm had been demolished.

The Golders Green station lies in the Northern Line and is an underground tube station. This station is one of the major hubs for the buses around North West London. Golders Green has six primary schools that are state aided.
